A Safe and Effective Solution

Sedation methods:

  • Nitrous oxide is administered through a mask and is inhaled through the nose. It causes the patient to feel calm and relaxed. The gas can also lessen the sensation of anesthetic injections. You will remain fully awake and alert throughout the whole procedure.
  • Another option is administered orally. The medication is a pill that is taken at least an hour before the procedure. The pill causes the patient to remain calm for their procedure. Depending on the dosage, some patients feel a little sleepy or actually fall asleep during their treatment.
  • General anesthesia is often used for longer procedures and for patients that suffer from extreme anxiety. The sedation is administered through an IV and renders the patient unconscious. Most patients are unable to recall their procedures.
